I guess you could say we are a little late to the party with this one but things have been quite hectic! Im sure some people will not have seen that Cisco have added a new top of the range Firewall to their lineup.
This thing has a monumental 12Gb of ram installed and is capable of a maximum throughput of 20Gbps!
This move has obviously been made to compete with Checkpoint who have several third party appliances available that can achieve massive throughput.

looks like these will be shipping with v8.1 software. anyone know when these will ship? hopefully the rest of the ASA field should be able to get 8.1 ASA software soon. its about time Cisco released a new upgrade since the amount of outstanding Caveats.

Yeah 8.1 should be very close. Not sure if there will be any extra functionality though.
