Here is an interesting fact for those looking at buying a new Cisco switch. In the past, you had to pay for a Crypto image which supported features such as SSH. Today, you buy the switch in its default config and request the crypto image from your supplier for free.

Im not sure if this applies to older switches but it might be worth a shot trying
