Well, this one is not strictly related to Cisco but heavily related to Information Security. Basically, anyone responsible for configuration of Security Devices can make use of this software to secure their data.
I have been using TrueCrypt for a long time now and it never ceases to impress me how an open source project like this is so professionally made.
The latest version now supports something quite unique as far as open source Encryption software goes, Full Disk Encryption!
Basically your entire system partition is encrypted and authentication is required pre-boot to access this information.
I havent tested this as yet but after using TrueCrypt for years now I can only imagine it being a fantastic product.
If you or one of your colleagues loses their laptop the data on it is safe. Something that Government agencies dont seem to be taking too seriously of late!
Go get it Here

There are certainly quite a few products out there. Wontboot (i mean safeboot), Drivecrypt, Pointsec etc. Truecrypt is definitely the cheapest though

Yeah free is good, but as you mentioned Goverment Agencies they have to conform to standards and recommendations.
They also will pay for an encryption software through the nose. BeCrypt encrypts the whole hard disk. You need a Dongle in order to boot the laptop up and username/pwd before Becrypt starts working and allows the OS to boot up. Without the dongle and a username/pwdword the disk drive is unusable.
I can only say our systems use this method, but there are tons of systems in each agencies and not all have protection!

BEcrypt does look very good. We are going to be looking at PointSec soon which is a checkpoint product. 2 Factor auth is a must in these products!
