InfoSec, for the unitiated, is the biggest and best Information Security conference in Europe.
Obviously we had a representative or two down there to check out the booth babes..I mean Security products..
There was some really great stuff too, although Cisco weren’t present!
Some highlights:
The NCC hack demonstrations - These guys showed a really nifty browser exploit which allowed them to take control of a host and under some circumstances port scan his local network!
Tipping Point - Basically an IPS/IDS company that offer a “no false positives” promise. An interesting and bold claim of course
We got free USB vacuums from them so we are not going to question them on that :p
Random Storm - Some good friends of ours were there in force demonstrating their Vulnerability assessment and management package. To boil it down it is a suite of tools that will run a penetration test and tie in the results with IDS alerts from Snort and in the future Cisco IDS. More at http://www.randomstorm.com/
I strongly recommend attending next year and checking out what people have to offer. I doubt Cisco will be there but a lot of their aquisitions usually are ![]()

Hi Richard,
Good to see you on Tuesday, we had a great show and got tons of leads. It was nice to be the only UK based Vulnerability Management Company at InfoSec!
