This news is a couple of weeks old, but is definitely worth having a look at anyway.

Basically, a guy called Sebastian Muniz of Core Security released a proof of concept root-kit for IOS routers.

A rootkit gives the attacker/hacker/cracker total control over a given device. The worst part is that they are exceptionally difficult to detect on PCs let alone Routers.
